ROLE: IT Supervisor – Rixos Hotels UAE

What We Expect Of You
- You are responsible to assist the IT Manager in the operation of all computer hardware and / or software installation and maintenance.
- Serve as secondary contact for all servicing of computer PC hardware and / or software.
- Responsible for managing technology/asset life-cycle. Ensures that necessary equipment (PCs, servers, telecom-related etc.) is ordered and available.
- Accountable for disaster recovery and business continuity as it relates to technology.
- Foresees, identifies and resolves system(s)’ performance problems
- Ensures technology assets are secure and well-maintained in accordance with Rixos policies and standards
- Data Communication
- Installs, monitors, maintains telecommunications equipment including cabling and providing technical guidance as needed.
- Performs adds/moves/changes/deletions.
- Supports end-use company provided mobile phone issues.
- Troubleshoots high-speed Internet access problems.
- Escalates problems as appropriate through IT Manager.
- Desktop Support
- Images desktops, installs new software applications, applies patches, maps drives to correct server/network.
- HARDWARE: Supports the Hotel in resolving Hardware issues through escalation of issues with Hardware partners. Considered as Hardware: Computers, Servers, Routers, Switches, Cables, PABX, Monitors, and Screens, Point of Sale devices, all relevant interfaces, UPS and related devices, and other active components.
- SOFTWARE: Ensures that all Accor IT Policies and Guidelines are being applied in the hotel. Ensures that only original and properly licensed application programs according to the IT management’s policy and requirement are running on the hotel’s systems and computers. Has a good relationship to the Software suppliers? Supports the hotel in resolving Software issues by escalation of issues to Software suppliers
- Moves/adds/changes PCs/peripherals; migrating data when necessary.
- Maintain a full inventory of all Hardware and software related supplies.
- Maintain a log of all computer hardware and a log of all services calls on computer hardware
- Manage the configuration records, programme files and data files on the computer system
- Monitor the performance of the computer software and maintain a log of performance reports, error and integrity check reports, system malfunctions and solutions
- Install and test corporate approved applications changes to the hotel computer systems
- Implement Preventive Maintenance for all IT hardware & Software on timely basis.
- Will be fully in-charge of IT Dept. and all of its related issues in the absence of the IT Manager / Department Head.
- Checking daily backups, all system interfaces, server hardware and logs.
- The management of the IT Agent/IT Specialist involves assigning daily tasks, providing training on all necessary theoretical and practical procedures, and offering troubleshooting and support in line with corporate standards.
- Follow up all claims that are being forwarded to IT Dept.
- Document, archive all correspondence and troubleshooting, follow up suppliers’ visits and maintenance.
- Must have very good knowledge in LAN, Security, Wireless, IP Telephony, Oasys, Micros, Fidelio, Opera, Sun System, various hospitality solutions and software.
- Must be an example of the Rixos Values, Brand Standards, and a champion of appearance & hygiene guidelines.
- Implements guidelines, policies and procedures for those operating departments according to Rixos Guidelines & Standards
- To ensure that he/she provides a friendly, courteous and professional service at all times.
- Ensures that any given timeline is strictly followed.
- Ensures that the daily IT procedures are completed only timely basis.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Computer Engineering, MCNA & CCNA.
- 4-5 years of similar experience in 4-5 star Hotel.
