About the job
Assess, design, test, plan and architect du data storage to meet business needs and demands and to deliver new services. The candidate will be working with multiple infrastructure stakeholders (business owner, application supplier, vendors, development, and Implementation and Operations teams) to design and plan new business services that need storage and be expected to establish and develop storage standards, policies, and procedures to ensure meeting business needs and best industry practices.
Key Accountabilities
Meet business owners and application suppliers of new projects to understand their business needs and translate these needs to the proper technical design
Plan and design data storage upgrade and expansion projects ensuring the compatibility of the running applications.
Prepare High Level Design (HLD) and Low Level Design (LLD) for all data storage related new projects, migrations or upgrades considering the best industry practices for security, scalability, performance and availability.
Support du management on selecting the right available data storage technologies in the market matching the business needs while optimizing CAPEX and OPEX.
Support du management on RFQs, RFIs and RFPs related to data storage.
Plan and design proper data storage recovery and backup plans to meet business defined RPOs/RTOs
Testing and validating new data storage technologies and features before applying on the live network.
Plan and Design POCs (Prove of Concepts) in the area of storage in coordination with the related suppliers.
Keep IT Infrastructure staff and management up to date on all matters relating to data storage creation, performance tuning and capacity planning with issues of significance being flagged.
Identify AS-IS storage setup, review, and recommend potential opportunities for improvement, and operational efficiency
Liaise with internal technology partners and external vendors to ensure effective communication and collaboration to ensure solution completeness.
Provide design level support to Virtualization / Cloud implementation team for project delivery and problem resolutions.
Plan and design data storage local/remote replication for the mission critical systems.
Review Storage performance continuously in order to identify opportunities for enhancements and upgrades as part of capacity planning
Design and plan the right data storage migration strategy according to the migration needs while maintaining the minimum impact on the live services.
Prepares and maintains documentation, technical reports, and provides follow up status on activities and tasks assigned.
Qualifications:
· Associates Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or Information Systems
· Professional certifications in the storage technologies.
Experience:
·At least 10 years in the data storage filed.
·Experience working with data Storage administration, backup strategies, and Storage disaster recovery
·Experience maintaining and applying security policies and procedures
